Watts, 65, retired Jonesboro machinist, was recovered from Saline Lake last Saturday afternoon by a Wildlife and Fisheries Commission captain after about three weeks of searching by hundreds of persons. Winn Parish Sheriff C. M. Robinson identified the captain as Clarence Hood. In an upright position, only the top of the head was showing out of the water. The body showed little signs of deterioration, due to the cold water, according to officers who were on the scene when the remains were removed from the water. Watts body was found about 100 yards from where the boat, in which he was fishing on February 19, was found tangled in brush with the throttle wide open. Sheriff Robinson said the man's glasses were still intact when the body was removed by him and Hood. Watts was on a fishing trip with a friend at the Collins and Irvin Camp on Saline Lake when the accident occurred. Searching parties composed of officers and civilians from over Winn, Jackson, and other nearby parishes had been in the vicinity of the camp every day since the drowning. Funeral services sere held Sunday at 9 a.m. at Jonesboro, with Rev. G. W. Dameron officiating. Burial was in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Watts is survived by his wife, Mrs. Francis Watts, one daughter, Mrs. Frankie Michaud, both of Jonesboro; one son, Billy Watts of Lake Charles; three brothers, Joe, John and George Watts, all of Jonesboro; four sisters, Mrs. Bud Rogers, Mrs. Alma Rockhold, Mrs. J. C. Anderson, and Mrs. Frank Grice.
