R. Watts, Jr., 85, Succumbs; Rites Saturday James R. Watts, Jr., 85, of Winnfield, died Friday, April 11, 1975 at his daughters residence here following a brief illness. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist church with the Revs. Jack Midyett, Calvin Phelps, and W. R. Gage officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mr. Watts was a member of the First United Methodist Church and co-owner of Watts Gin Co. for 30 years. Survivors include three sons, James Watts III of Winnfield, Kennon Watts of Shreveport, and Abner Watts of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Mrs. G. E. Brewton of Winnfield; one brother, Kenneth Watts of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Monnie Jackson of Port Arthur, Texas, Mrs. Ina Rushing of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Mrs. Willie Gaar of Winnfield; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Pallbearers included Doug McKenzie, Pat Harrell, Elton Brewton, Newton Forrest, Dennis Shell, Don Walsh, Tim Gaar, and Dick Watts.
