L. "Shorty" Waters Dies In Shreveport Trois L. "Shug" Waters, age 59, died in a Shreveport hospital at 1:10 a.m. Friday, March 13, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the former Eddie Lee Brewer, the son of the lat Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Waters, and the only brother of J. L. "Shorty" Waters of Winnfield. Mr. Waters was a native of Winn Parish but had lived in Shreveport where he was employed at Wray Dickerson's Service Department for thirty years. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the New Hope Methodist Church near Winnfield, with Rev. Ira Love, pastor of Wynn Methodist Church of Shreveport, and Rev. J. C. Rousseaux, pastor of New Hope Church, officiating. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Trois L. Waters, Shreveport; one brother, J. L. Waters, Winnfield; one nephew, Johnny H. Waters, Winnfield; and one niece, Mrs. Thomas Dean of Ferriday. Pallbearers were Lloyd Trawick, Johnny Jackson, Buck McCartney, Ernest Melton, James Russell, and Tracy Harrel, Sr.
