T. Watts Wednesday, Feb. 11 John Turner Watts, 74, died in the Baptist hospital, Alexandria, Tuesday, February 10, 1948, where he had been a patient for the past six weeks. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, with the pastor, Rev. Alwin Stokes officiating. Interment followed in the Winnfield Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Clyde Taylor, Lank Morris, W. D. Walker, Puckett Willis, Ebb Machen, J. C. Brooks, Robert Maxey, and Welby Willis. Born in Lincoln Parish, May 15, 1873, Mr. Watts came to Winn Parish as a young man. A farmer and contractor, he was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Hinton Watts; one daughter, Jewell, Winnfield; two sons, Aubry, Charleston, S. C., and Ardis, San Francisco, Calif.; four brothers, Dan and Willie Watts, Ruston; Alvie of Minden; and Clark, all of Texas; and one sister, Mrs. Sally Talton, Carlsbad, N. M.
