Mr. Wadkins was about 26 years old, cheerful, active and of good character; and had many friends. No cause was known for the act as he was cheerfully engaging in the family reunion and homecoming for the holidays up to the time of taking his gun apparently to shoot some birds. The body was found in a pasture near the barn about three hours later. Burial was in the family cemetery (Siloam); funeral services were conducted by Rev. Drain of Jonesboro. Mr. Wadkins leaves a father, stepmother, and several brothers and sisters, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
