Mrs. M. Waters, Retired Teacher, Dies Thurs., July 6

Mrs. Mary Ruth Conerly Waters, 73, of Dodson, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, July
6, in a local hospital after a short illness.

A native of Alexandria, Mrs. Waters was a retired school teacher, a graduate
of Northwestern State College, and a member of the Methodist Church.  For the
last few years she resided in St. Joseph with her daughters.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Methodist Church
here with Rev. Richard Walton and Rev. Wallace Blackwood officiating. 
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville under the direction of
Hixson's Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sons, Harvey J. Waters, Detroit, Michigan; Dan C.
Waters, Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. A. G. McIntosh and Mrs. J. P. Barbre
of St. Joseph, and Mrs. C. E. Williams of Dodson; one sister, Mrs. Nannie C.
McNamara of Alexandria and ten grandchildren.
