Waters Funeral services were held for Mrs. Lou Dickinson Waters, 72 years and 10 months of age, Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock in the family home at Dodson. The Rev. Harvey B. Hysell, Methodist pastor, assisted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian pastor of Winnfield, conducted the rites. Interment was held in the New Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Waters died Saturday at the Baptist hospital in Alexandria at 9:30 p.m. She was born February 13, 1871 in the Hudson Community and resided her entire life in and near Dodson. She was the widow of the late Julius E. Waters, prominent merchant, tie contractor, and police jury member of Ward Seven. Mrs. Waters joined the Methodist Church at an early age and remained a faithful Christian throughout her life. Surviving Mrs. Waters are four daughters, Mrs. Armor Greer of Winnsboro, Mrs. Eva Taylor of Alexandria, Mrs. Violet Simmons of Monroe, and Mrs. Lurline Scott of Alexandria; two sons, Harvey J. Waters of Alexandria and Pvt. Guy Waters of MacDill Field, Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Belle Warner of Forrest, La., and eleven grandchildren.
