Mrs. Weatherford Dies; Rites Thurs. At Beech Creek

Mrs. Mattie W. Weatherford, 77, of Joyce, died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday,
January 28, 1970, in Winnfield Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was a native of Winn Parish.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at Beech Creek Baptist Church with
Rev. E. B. Barton and Rev. Doris Dearmon officiating.  Interment will be in
the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Survivors include six sons, Clarence Weatherford, Austin Weatherford, and
Ellis Weatherford, all of Joyce, Earl Weatherford and Elzie Weatherford of
Winnfield, and Leon Weatherford of Fort Hood, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Ola
Jones of Olla and Mrs. Annie Mae Roberts of Joyce; one brother, Aarie Weems of
Waldo, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Ida Worsham of Georgetown, 24 grandchildren and
26 great grandchildren.
