Local Woman Dies In Collision

A Winnfield woman was killed instantly early Friday morning when the car she
was driving collided with a tractor-trailer rig on Highway 1 south of
Natchitoches.

Patricia L. Webb, 21, died of extensive head and chest injuries, according to
Natchitoches Parish coroner Dr. Charles Cook.

Police report Webb was northbound on the highway where it changes from two-
to four-lane and she entered the southbound lane where her vehicle
collided with the truck driven by Christopher Colquitt, 37, of Shreveport.
Colquitt was not injured.

Troopers said the accident occurred at 3:22 a.m.  Although the area was  foggy
at the time, troopers said this was not a contributing factor to the accident.

"Patty" Webb was a graduate of Winnfield Senior High School Class of 1983
and had been a student at Northwestern State University.
