Rites For Edward Weeks, 71, Held At Yankee Springs

Funeral services for Edward Weeks, 71, former Ward 10 school board member,
were conducted at the Yankee Springs Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April
20, with the Rev. C. M. Robinson officiating.  Burial was in Yankee Springs
Cemetery.  Impressive Masonic rites were held at the grave.

Mr. Weeks, a resident of near Calvin for many years, died in Springhill
Tuesday night, April 18, where he was visiting his granddaughter.  He had been
seriously ill for several months.

He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge and had been a
very active civic leader in his community.  His Masonic friends served as
pallbearers.  His wife preceded him in death several years ago.  

Surviving is one son, Elmer Weeks of near Calvin.
