The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. when a load of logs fell on him after a support on the truck broke. Services for Weeks were held at 1 p.m., November 14, at Goldonna Baptist Church with Rev. W. L. Fussell, Rev. Dean Hedrick, and Rev. E. D. Morris officiating. Burial followed in the Yankee Springs Cemetery with Masonic graveside services led by Eugene Love. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Weeks was a native of Goldonna, a 1964 graduate of Goldonna High School, a member of the United States Air Force from 1965-1968, a member of Goldonna Masonic Lodge No. 293, F. & A. M., and a 32nd degree Mason. He was a logging contractor and a Winn Parish school bus driver. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Linda Weeks; two sons, Delton Edward Weeks and Jeffery Scott Weeks; one daughter, Melanie Virginia Weeks; his mother, Mrs. Grace Weeks; all of Goldonna; two brothers, Jerry Weeks of Lake Charles and Eugene Weeks of Goldonna; one sister, Mrs. Karen Garrett of Goldonna; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were his nephews, Bert Evans of Valdosta, Ga., Greg Weeks of Austin, Tex., and Randy Weeks of Lake Charles; his cousins, Tommy Weeks of St. Francisville, Gaylan Colvin of Minden, and Arlin Frazier of Monroe.
