T. Weldon Of Montgomery Expires At 31 Henry Truitt Weldon, 31, co-owner and manager of Weldon Ford Co. in Montgomery, died about 2 p.m. Thursday, May 13, from an apparent self- inflicted pistol wound, according to Grant Parish Coroner B. Webb Smith of Colfax. The body of Weldon was found by his business partner, Dr. M. L. Kuhlman and Gerald Teddlie, parts manager of Weldon Ford, in one of the stables of Weldon's barn located on his ranch about three miles from Montgomery. Kuhlman said they heard a shot just as they drove up to the gate about 75 yards from the barn. Friends said Weldon had been despondent during much of the day. An outstanding basketball player from Mt. Carmel High School in Sabine Parish in the late 1950s, he was the No. 2 single game high school scorer in the state with 82 points. NSU Graduate He graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches in January, 1963, following a brilliant basketball career during which time he was twice selected to the All-Gulf States Conference team. This past fall he was vice president of the NSU Alumni Assn. Funeral services were held in the Montgomery Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Friday, May 14, with memorial services and burial in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Sabine Parish under direction of First National of Natchitoches. Rev. George McVay and Rev. Earl Marr officiated. The family requested that memorials be made to the building fund of the Montgomery Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Linda Weldon of Montgomery; a son, Norman Gene Weldon of Montgomery; three daughters, Maria Weldon, Dinah Weldon, and Wendy Weldon, all of Montgomery; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Weldon of Mt. Carmel; two brothers, DeWayne Weldon of Lufkin, Texas, and Dennis Weldon of Mt. Carmel; and a sister, Mrs. Donald Dowden of Hornbeck.
