Tommy Hamms officiating. Burial was in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery on Hwy. 501 near Calvin, La. B. West, Jr., 78, died at 11:05 a.m. Sunday, November 3, 1991, in Veterans Administration Medical Center, Pineville, after a short illness. The Winn Parish native was the son of Brack West, Sr., and Aleatha Taylor West. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in the Cedar Community where he was born. Mr. West was a well-known self-employed hauling contractor and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Riser West, Winnfield; one daughter, Helen Walker of Shreveport; three brothers, Norman West of Chicago, Ill., Leon West of Berkley, Calif., and Perry West of Winnfield; and two grandchildren, Loraza Walker of Shreveport and Meshona Walker of Atlanta, Ga. Pallbearers were grandson and nephews.
