Peter D. Whatley, Brother of Mrs. Abel, Dies in Ark.

Mrs. P. K. Abel was called last week to the bedside of her brother, Peter D.
Whatley, who was ill in an El Dorado sanitarium.  Mr. Whatley, 62 years of
age, succumbed Monday, December 5th.  Funeral services were conducted Tuesday
at the family residence, 311 Hardy Street, El Dorado, the Rev. C. M. Smith,
pastor, First Methodist Church, in charge.  Burial was in the Rose Lawn
Cemetery, Junction City, Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Whatley was a well known lumberman of Union County, Ark.  Besides his
widow, Mrs. Hettie Whatley, he is survived by two daughters, Harry Mae and
Linda, also of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. P. K. Abel, Winnfield, and
Mrs. T. S. Mathews, Mansfield; and one brother, L. W. Whatley, El Dorado.

Mrs. Abel returned to Winnfield Wednesday.
