All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: March 1, 1951 Winn Parish Enterprise Last Rites For Charlie White Held At Zion Saturday Last rites for Charles Andrew White, 78, of Pineville, who died Thursday, Feb. 23, in an Alexandria hospital, were held at the Zion Baptist Church, Winn Parish, Saturday, Feb. 24, with Judge Cas Moss, assisted by the Zion pastor and the Lee Heights pastor, officiating. Burial was in Zion Cemetery. Mr. White, a native of Bienville, lived in Winnfield about 40 years ago. He was woods superintendent for the Selma Lumber Company for 35 years, and was widely known in this area. Acting as pallbearers were A. B. White, Jr., Charles Otto White, Jr., R. L. White, Jerald Creed, William Long, James Lavelle Long, Sam Bass, and _____ Rambo. Mr. White is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Long White of Pineville; one son, C. O. White of Greenville, S. C.; two daughters, Mrs. G. B. Henderson of Pineville and Mrs. Don Q. Smith of Vinton; three brothers, W. F. White and A. B. White, both of Winnfield, and W. T. White of Abbeville, and five granddaughters.
