Mr. Emmitt Melvin Wheat, age 69 of Blytheville, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, February 24,2005 at the Dubuis Hospital of Alexandria, in Alexandria, LA.  Mr. Wheat was a member of the Hargis Baptist Church of Montgomery, LA and served his country in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Wheat was the son of the late Eugene Wheat and the late Mary (Paul) Wheat.

He is survived by his wife Mary, of Blytheville, Arkansas

Three Stepsons Stan Wilson of Blytheville, Ark. Jim Wilson of Blytheville, Ark. Reagan Wilson of Jackson, Miss.

Mr. Wheat was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and George Wheat; and two sisters, Eugenia Desemar and Eula Lewis.

Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La. Friends may visit with the family at the Union Grove Church near Montgomery, La. on Friday, February 25, 2005 from 4 to 9 PM.  Friends may also visit with the family at the church on Saturday, February 26,
2005 from 9 AM until service time.  Funeral services will be held at the Union Grove Church at 11 AM on Saturday, February 26, 2005, with Reverend Nathaniel Young officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Grove Cemetery.
