Brother of Mrs. J. W. Hatten of Sikes Dies

The Rev. Jelie Jefferson Wheelus, retired Baptist minister, died at his home
near Winnsboro, Monday, March 5, and was buried at the Oak Grove Cemetery
Tuesday.

A native of Caldwell Parish, he moved to Winn at the age of 16 and lived here
a number of years.  Active in the ministry for 20 years, he served a number
of churches in this parish.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Penasie McCarty Wheelus of Winnsboro; one
daughter, and two sons, all of Winnsboro, and one sister, Mrs. J. W. Hatten
of Sikes.
