White, Sr., Dies Suddenly Of Heart Attack Andrew Buron White, Sr., 58, owner of the Imperial Hotel and Winnfield Recreation Center, died suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Winnfield last Sunday morning. He was buried Monday afternoon. Mr. White was a native of Winn Parish and spent most of his life here, with the exception of six years in Arkansas, and 16 years in Greenville, South Carolina. He was a veteran of World War I and had owned the hotel and recreation center since 1942. He died Sunday morning as he was getting ready to attend Sunday School and apparently felt well until a few minutes before the fatal attack. Funeral services were held in the Winnfield First Baptist Church at 4 p.m. Dr. W. L. Holcomb, assisted by Rev. H. J. Mott and Rev. Alwin Stokes, officiated. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. White was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Bowman Wright, Lloyd Key, George Morris, H. K. Everett, Spec LaCroix, Troy Smith, Charlie Corley, and Bill Corley. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clara Frazier White, two children, A. B. White, Jr. of Winnfield, and Mrs. Virginia Bass of Alexandria; two brothers, Frank White of Winnfield and W. T. White of Abbeville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
