Ray Whisenant Is Killed In Oil Field Accident

Funeral services for Ray Whisenant, 34, a native of Winn Parish, who was
killed in an oilfield accident Tuesday, September 8, near Golden Meadow, La.,
was held at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Last rites were conducted in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of
Winnfield, with burial following in the Gorham Cemetery.

Survivors are his widow; two daughters, Sheila and Rebecca Lyn Whisenant, and
one son, Michael Earl, all of Golden Meadow; his mother, Mrs. Oler Whisenant,
Joyce; four brothers, Detroy, A. T., and Arless Whisenant, all of Joyce, and
Arlen of Alexandria; and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Mae Vallery and Mrs.
Robert Lowery, both of Joyce.
