Man Killed In Wisner, Buried at Sardis Tuesday

George Lee Whittington, 44, farmer of near Wisner, La., who was killed last
Saturday as he came out of a movie, was buried in the Sardis Cemetery, Winn
Parish, Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. W. C. Bounds and Rev. C. M.
Robinson, officiating.

According to reports, Whittington was attacked by Nolan "Sugar" Barlow, and
was knocked down by his assailant and his head struck the bumper of an
automobile.  He died of a broken neck.  The violence was attributed to
domestic troubles.  Both men resided on Route 1, Wisner.

Whittington is survived by his wife, of Wisner, the former Letha Evans of
Atlanta; one daughter, Linda Doris; five sons.
