Mrs. Martha J. White Dead

Mrs. Martha J. White, age 87, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. E.
Young, in Arcadia Monday night at 12:30 following a severe attack of bronchial
pneumonia.

Mrs. White was the wife of the late J. J. White who died about five years ago. 
She was born in Mississippi and moved with her parents in early youth to
Jackson Parish.  Mrs. White was a devout member of the Missionary Baptist
Church with her membership at Sweetwater, La.

The remains were brought here from Arcadia Tuesday afternoon and funeral
services conducted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, with interment in the Winnfield
Cemetery at six o'clock.

She is survived by six children, three daughters, Mrs. M. E. Young, Arcadia,
Mrs. J. A. Godwin, Shreveport, Mrs. Nettie McConothy, Jena, and three sons, L.
M. White, Clay, La., T. C. White, Denton, Texas, and A. M. White, Verda.
