L. D. White Of Sikes Succumbs October 14th

Mr. L. D. White, 72 years of age, a member of a pioneer Winn Parish family,
died at his home near Sikes Wednesday, October 14, 1942, following a stroke.

Mr. White was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church and has been a deacon of
the church for the past 25 years.

Funeral services were conducted at Hebron Thursday with the Rev. Grayson
Emmons in charge.

Surviving Mr. White are his wife, Mrs. Nancy Simons White; two sons, Mr. Ira
White and Mr. Arthur White of Sikes, and a daughter, Mrs. Louie Brand of
Rochelle, La.  He also leaves the following brothers, Jackson White, Hardy
White, Crosier White, all of Sikes, and Ira White of Winnsboro and Walter
White of Dodson.
