Last Rites For Mrs. Lily White, 87, At New Hope

Funeral services for Mrs. Lily White, 87, who died at her home in the Hudson
community at 5 p.m. January 1, were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the New Hope
Methodist Church with the Rev. L. Swanner of Jonesboro officiating.  Assisting
was the pastor, Rev. L. G. Shaw of Winnfield.  Burial was in New Hope Cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Acting as pallbearers were M. C. Bain, Clayton White, Osby Young, Bill
Johnson, Strauss Young, and Verlon Young.

Mrs. White had spent most of her life in the Hudson community.  She was a
member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. C. B. Higginbottom, Dodson, Route One; two
grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; four
sisters, Mrs. Kate Johnson, Dodson; Mrs. Tom Williams, Oakdale; Mrs. J. E.
Young, LeCompte; Mrs. R. E. Young, West Monroe.
