All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 16, 1972 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Mrs. Whitecotton, Winn Native, Succumbs Feb. 11 Mrs. Sina Tannehill Whitecotton, 92, of 106 E. 74th St., Shreveport, died at 7 a.m. Friday, February 11, 1972 at her residence following a long illness. Mrs. Whitecotton, a native of Winnfield, had been a resident of Shreveport for 61 years and was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Whitecotton was the daughter of the late Harriet Long and Monroe Tannehill and was the last member of this particular pioneer Long and Tannehill families. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Wellman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A. P. Weaver, Jr., pastor of Four Square Bible Church in Bossier City, officiating. Mrs. Whitecotton is survived by two sons, Milo Whitecotton of Shreveport and W. L. Whitecotton of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Clotile Ward of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Edwina Hale of Winnfield; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Mrs. Elmo Frazier is a niece of Mrs. Whitecotton. Among relatives attending the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Frazier, Mrs. Edwina Hale, of Winnfield and Mrs. Nell Robertson of El Dorado.
