W. H. Wright, Sr., Winn Native, Dies Sunday

Funeral services for William Heard Wright, Sr., 68, of Baton Rouge, and a
native of Winnfield, were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Episcopal
Church in Baton Rouge with Rev. Robert J. Witcher officiating.  Burial was in
Grace Episcopal Cemetery in St. Francisville.

Wright died of an apparent heart attack at his home at 3 p.m. Sunday, October
20, 1968.  He was a civic, social, and political leader in Baton Rouge where
he was president of Wright Insurance Agency, Inc., and a member of the Greater
Baton Rouge Port Commission.  He was a graduate of Winnfield High School and
attended Louisiana State University.

He was a cousin of Huey and Earl Long.

He is survived by his wife, the former Louise Percy; a son, William Heard
Wright, Jr.; a brother, Dr. Roy W. Wright, and a sister, Mrs. N. C. Dalton,
both of Baton Rouge, and three grandchildren.
