Williams, Well Known Ward Nine Man, Dies Funeral services for Charley Allen Williams were held March 7 with Rev. Lisenby, pastor of Georgetown Church, officiating. Rev. Lisenby was assisted by Rev. C. R. McCartney and Rev. R. C. Miller. Mr. Williams passed away Saturday morning, March 6, at the age of 83 years. He was married to Kattie Belle Wright, February 15, 1902. To this union were born nine children, who are all living except one who preceded him in death last April. Mr. Williams became a member of Zion Baptist Church on profession of faith 65 years ago. At his passing, he was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and an ordained deacon and was made a Master Mason on May 11, 1902. He was well known and respected member of the community, having been very active in the political and civic affairs of his ward for a number of years. He leaves his wife, Mrs. C. A. Williams, eight children; two sisters, Mrs. Love Welch and Miss Ada Williams; two brothers, Wade Williams of Oak Grove and I. W. Williams; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons, Edgar Lynn Williams, Donnis Green, Bassel K. Williams, Carroll Lynn Stamper, Charles Wooten, and Mutt Kendrick. Honorary pallbearers were Masons.
