Mrs. Emma Willis of Sikes Succumbs in Local Hospital

Last rites for Mrs. Emma Willis, 81, of Sikes, who died in a Winnfield
hospital Monday after a lengthy illness were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the
Hurricane Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. John Kitchingham, pastor,
officiating.  Assisting was Dr. W. L. Holcomb of Winnfield.

Burial was in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral
Home.

A native of Winn Parish, Mrs. Willis had lived near Sikes for 39 years.

Survivors include two sons, Elvin and Alison Willis both of Sikes; five
daughters, Mrs. Ophelia Adams and Mrs. Essie Parker, both of Sikes, Mrs.
Bertha Erskine of Prescott, Ark., Mrs. Donnis Stroud of Winnfield and Mrs.
Lottie Buchan of Winnsboro; one brother, Ira Womack of Mt. Morris, Ill.,
40 grandchildren and 68 great grandchildren.
