All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: May 1, 1942 Winnfield News-American Negro Fatally Injured Wednesday By Empty Log Cars Henderson Wilson, Falls Underneath Moving Cars; Severs Arms Henderson Wilson, Negro employee of the Mansfield Hardwood Lumber Company, was fatally injured Wednesday afternoon, when he accidentally fell under the log train in the mill log yard. Wilson, who was assisting in switching empty log cars, attempted to cross the track on which a car had been switched and in some way fell on the track and five cars passed over him severing both arms. He was brought to the Fittz-Faith Clinic where the arms were amputated, but within a few hours he died from the shock and loss of blood. Wilson had been in the employ of the company for more than a year, it is understood.
