Willis, 50, Succumbs Dec. 22 Last Rites Conducted At First Baptist Church Monday Funeral services for Henry T. Willis, 50, one of Winn Parish's best known citizens, who died at his home here Sunday afternoon, were held at the First Baptist Church Monday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. H. H. McBride, and Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian minister. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. After attending Louisiana College the deceased for several years was engaged in school work in Grant, LaSalle, Union, and Winn Parishes. Then for several years he was clerk of the Town of Winnfield, following which he served as deputy state supervisor of public accounts under W. E. McFarland and E. A. Conway. In 1935 Mr. Willis was employed by the United States Census Bureau as chief clerk of the agricultural census of the Eighth Congressional district and in 1936 was assistant Eighth district supervisor of the business census, with headquarters in Alexandria. Upon completion of the 1936 business census, he became field representative of the Home Owners Loan Corporation with Shreveport headquarters. For the past few months he has been North Louisiana manager of credits for a national mail order firm of Chicago with office in Monroe. Surviving members of his family are his wife; two sons, Welby Willis in Winnfield and Aaron Willis, Kountze, Texas; Horace L. and Herbert Willis, Pineville, brothers, and a sister, Mrs. D. Jones, Winnfield, besides a scores of other relatives among the oldest and most prominent families of Winn Parish.
