Verda Resident Succumbs; Last Rites February 17

Funeral services for C. R. Williams, 65, of Verda, who died Monday, February
15, after a short illness, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Friendship
Baptist Church in Fishville, with Rev. Harold Clark and Rev. M. E. Mercer
officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral
Home of Winnfield.

Williams, a retired merchant, was a native of Grant Parish.

Survivors include four brothers, H. L. Williams of Colfax, Eddie Williams
of Iowa, La., Otho Williams of Port Arthur, Texas, and Owen Williams of
Beaumont, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Gains of Houma and Mrs. W. W. Stroud
of Pollock.
