Williams Rites Held At Montgomery Funeral services for W. P. Williams, 82, former Montgomery secretary- treasurer, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Montgomery Methodist Church. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mr. Williams died Tuesday, June 13, 1972, in Winnfield hospital after a long illness. He was town secretary-treasurer in Montgomery until his retirement a few years ago and had also served as secretary-treasurer for the Grant Parish Police Jury. Mr. Williams served on the Grant Parish School Board for 19 years and was former superintendent of Sunday School at Montgomery Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mildred Williams of Montgomery; two daughters, Mrs. Madeline Erwin of Montgomery and Mrs. Elenore Adams of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Willie Williams of Hawesville, Ky., and Huber Williams of Tell City, Ky.; a sister, Mrs. M. B. Simpson of Owensboro, Ky.; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Murrell Gunn, Robert Warren, Melvin Hall, Herschell Hughes, Everett Nelms, and J. D. Boston.
