T. Walker Held October 6 Dies In New Orleans After Several Weeks Illness F. T. Walker, of Dodson, 79 years of age and member of an old and prominent family of Winn Parish, died Wednesday afternoon, October 4th, in a sanitarium at New Orleans, having been ill about two weeks. Mr. Walker has been a resident of Dodson for many years and during the past five or six years was engaged in the grocery business. Mr. Walker's health had been declining for several months, however, is condition was not regarded so gravely until a few days before his death. He is survived by four children, as follows: H. E. Walker, St. Louis, Mo.; R. F. Walker, New Orleans; Mrs. Chas. L. Shell, Dodson; Mrs. B. M. Stovall, Dodson; besides a legion of friends and other relatives, all of whom mourn his passing. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. T. Strain, pastor of the Simsboro Baptist Church and Rev. H. B. Hysell, pastor of the M. E. Church South, of Hodge. Mr. Walker, early in life, became a devout Christian and affiliated with the Baptist Church. Rev. Strain and Hysell, in speaking of his life and deeds, complimented him highly due to the way that he and his family had lived and the part they had played in the development of the Dodson community.
