Walker Dies; Burial At New Hope Myrtle Emmons Walker, 80, of Jonesboro, died at about 6 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 1965 in a Jonesboro hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of the late Felix D. Walker and they were natives of the Gaars Mill-Hudson area. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in New Hope Methodist Church near Dodson with Rev. Eldredge Blakely and Rev. Lea Joyner officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Edmonds' Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Survivors are two sons, Roy Walker of Dodson and Lloyd Walker of Minden; six daughters, Mrs. Ruby Harmon, Mrs. Clyde Elendorff, Mrs. Madge Doss, and Mrs. Polly Stinks, all of Monroe, and Mrs. Blanche Stewart and Mrs. Willie Smedley, both of Jonesboro; one brother, Clayton Allen of Banner, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Jordan of Alexandria; and 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
