Wilson, 86, Dies At Home Of Son In Calvin Funeral services for Braxton E. Wilson, 86 year old pioneer Winn Parish resident, were held Sunday, March 7, at the Calvin Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson, a retired farmer and former Ward Eight School Board member, died at the home of his son in Calvin Saturday, after a brief illness. Conducting the funeral was Rev. Carter Hall, pastor of the Calvin Church, assisted by Judge Cas Moss. Burial was in Sanders Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Wilson was born January 24, 1868, in Alabama. His parents moved here when he was young and he has resided in Winn since that time. He was a member of the Parish School Board from his ward for 16 years. His profession was farming before his retirement. Surviving are one son, Henry H. Wilson of Calvin; two sisters, Miss Trudie Wilson and Mrs. Penny Carter, both of Calvin; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and many other friends and relatives. Pallbearers were Howard Wilson, John Edward Carter, Bob Carpenter, W. E. Carpenter, Jr., James Rhymes, and Hershel Lowe.
