Douglas Walsworth Killed in Action Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Walsworth, Jonesboro, ___________ a message from the War Department Wednesday morning stating that their son, Sergeant John Douglas Walsworth, 27, was killed in action on New Guinea, June 6. He was serving in the infantry. Sgt. Walsworth's wife, Mrs. Morean Morehead Walsworth, has been employed in Shreveport since her husband left for overseas duty last September. Besides his parents and wife, Sgt. Walsworth is survived by two brothers, First Lieutenant Miley Walsworth, Jr., a paratrooper stationed in England, and Sgt. Lamar Walsworth, who is stationed in Philadelphia; one sister, Ella Jean Walsworth, of Winnfield; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Walsworth, Jonesboro; an anunt, Mrs. A. E. Raywinkle, of Shreveport; and three uncles, Bryant Sholars and C. F. Walsworth, Winnfield, and Lewis Sholars, S 2/c who is serving in the Coast Guard. Before entering service October 8, 1941, Sgt. Walsworth was employed in the office of the Tremont and Gulf Railway in Winnfield. He was a graduate of the Winnfield High School.
