H. Williams, Sr., 74, of Ruston, formerly of Winnfield, died at noon Wednesday, December 13, 1972, in a Ruston hospital. Son of the late Dr. W. H. Williams and Mattie Dickerson Williams, Mr. Williams was a native of Poland, a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of Eastern Star Masonic Lodge No. 151, F. & A. M., a 32nd degree Maon, and a retired employee of the Tremont and Gulf Railroad where he served as paymaster and time keeper. He was also a member of the Brotherhood Railroad and a veteran of World War I. Funeral services were held Friday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home with Rev. J. C. Skinner officiating, assisted by Rev. Calvin Phelps. Interment was in New Jerusalem Cemetery with Masonic graveside services. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Carraway Williams of Ruston; two sons, Dr. Burton H. Williams, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and C. M. Sgt. James E. Williams of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Kennedy of Winnfield and Mrs. Vestal Dean Bailey of Lowell, Ind.; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Pallbearers included Dan Page, Jr., James Watts, Roy Dickerson, Troy Lynn Smith, John G. Jackson, and Marvin Carraway.
