Mr. Williams, a pulpwood contractor for Brown Paper Mill, recently had moved to Monroe from his former home in Verda. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ernest Scott of Transylvania Baptist Church, with burial in Verda Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers in Winnfield. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. John Williams; one son, John Raymond Williams of Verda; five brothers, Harry Lee of Colfax, Eddie of Iowa, La., Charlie Rufus of Verda, Otho of Port Arthur, Texas, and Owen of Irvington, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Stroud of Pineville and Miss Hazel Lee Williams of Alexandria, and his mother, Mrs. Frances Williams of Verda. Pallbearers were Everett Nelms, Aaron Fletcher, Arthur Seward, O. K. Lane, J. E. Brock, and Ben Jordan.
