Mayor of Jonesboro, Brother of Mrs. Elmo Elliott of Dodson Dies

Mayor S. A. Williams, 51, of Jonesboro, died in a hospital in Alexandria,
Saturday, January 18, 1936, following a month's illness.  Funeral services
were conducted Sunday at Jonesboro.

Mr. Williams was elected mayor of Jonesboro in 1934.  Prior to that time he
was in the real estate business.

He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Miss Mary Williams of Monroe; four
sons, Virgil, Robert, Owen, and S. A. Williams, Jr., all of Jonesboro; four
sisters, Mrs. S. D. McBride, Mrs. W. C. Fowler, and Mrs. W. S. Barr, all of
Joneboro, and Mrs. Elmo Elliott of Dodson.
