From Effects of Poison Mrs. Nannie Beck Williams, 60 years old, died here Saturday from effects of seven poison tablets she had taken three days before. Mrs. Williams died at the home of her sister in law, Mrs. J. L. Beck, in Laurel Heights where she had been making her home for the past month. She had come here in search of employment and failing to find something to do, had become despondent over being a burden on relatives. Mrs. Williams purchased the poison tablets in town Wednesday morning and returned home and it was reported swallowed seven of them. Mrs. Williams comes from a family prominent in North Louisiana. Her mother was an Aubrey of Mount Pleasant. Her father, G. W. Beck, who came to Winnfield in 1900 and was elected to a series of public offices, among them that of deputy clerk. She was the widow of the late W. O. Williams, former jeweler of Winnfield. Funeral services for Mrs. Williams were conducted Saturday. Surviving are a brother, W. J. Beck, Goring, Ark., and a nephew, W. A. Jones, of Shreveport, member of the Shreveport police force.
