B. Luneau of Dallas, Texas, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Roy of Five Forks in Winn Parish, was killed when the car he was driving was in collision with a truck driven by Steve Purvis, colored, about four miles north of Chatham, last Sunday. Three other Winn Parish youths, Harold Roberts, Harvey Shumake, and Freddie C. Shumake, were injured in the accident, which occurred about 4 a.m. Sunday. They were taken to a Monroe hospital for treatment and were reported in serious condition. Purvis, driver of the 1 « ton Ford truck, is being held in the Jackson Parish jail awaiting action of the March Grand Jury term, it was reported by Edward H. Ayers, Jackson Parish Clerk of Court. A coroner's inquest was held Wednesday afternoon by Jackson Parish Coroner Dr. E. Blume, and the verdict of death by "being hit with a ...truck driven by Steve Purvis by drunk and reckless driving" was field in the Jackson Parish clerk's office. Funeral services for Williamson were held at Sardis Baptist Church Monday with Rev. W. C. Bounds officiating, assisted by Rev. E. B. Barton. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers in Winnfield. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. P. B. Luneau, Dallas; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Roy, Five Forks; two brothers, Larry E. Williamson, Winnfield (only one listed), one half brother, Harry Luneau, Dallas; three half sisters, Katie Lynn Luneau, Cassie Lynn Luneau, and Serita Luneau, all of Dallas. Pallbearers were Ardis Keys, Frank Barton, Cloy Shelton, Junior Collins, Roy Taylor, and Dewitt Collins.
