All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 24, 1953 Winn Parish Enterprise Brother of Local Woman Killed In Auto Accident Roy Davis Williams was killed near Reidland, Ark., early Saturday afternoon, when the car he was driving rammed the back of a truck and turned over. Williams' wife, who was an occupant in the car, was badly injured and was taken to he Biggs Clinic in Oak Grove. According to reports, both vehicles were traveling south toward Lake Providence, when the driver of the truck made a left turn. Williams was apparently unable to stop in time to prevent the collision, which caused the car to turn over. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Macedonia Church, Kilbourne, La. Rev. Sam Barfield officiated. Interment was in Kilbourne Cemetery under direction of Catron Gay Funeral Home of Oak Grove. Williams is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Lewis Williams; one daughter, Mrs. J. F. Hagens of Oak Grove; four grandsons, seven brothers, W. R., Homer, Woodrow, and Glen, of Oak Grove; Warren of Willis, Calif.; Clarence, Wilmot, Ark.; and Holley of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. S. P. Jones of Winnfield, Mrs. Hattie Ray of Willis, Calif.; and his father, Wade Williams of Calif.
