Andrew Womack, 46 years old, deputy sheriff of Catahoula Parish, was killed Friday night when he attempted to search a tent occupied by Richard Grogan, on the Jonesville highway, for liquor. Grogan was arrested by Sheriff C. C. Sinlay(Finlay?) and placed here for safekeeping, as feeling was reported high against him. Mr. Womack was a former resident of Gaars Mill community in Winn Parish. The remains were interred in a cemetery near his former home Saturday. He is survived by a number of relatives at Dodson and Gaars Mill.
