All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 4, 1969 Winn Parish Enterprise-News American Rites For Lewis Womack Set For 1:30 Thursday :Lewis Womack, 75, resident of the Hudson Community, and native of Ward Seven, died in the Veterans Hospital in Pineville at 8:30 p.m. September 8, 1969. He had been in ill health several years and had entered the hospital on August 29 prior to his death. Funeral services, which were delayed until after the arrival of his son-in-law, Charles Jennings, who is stationed at Yokota, AFB, Japan, have now been set to be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery. Born in Gaars Mill Community, Mr. Womack spent his entire life in Ward Seven. He was retired, but during his active years farmed and operated a general merchandise store and filling station. He served Ward Seven as Police Juror for 12 or more years, and was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Velma Burnett Womack of Hudson; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Louise) Jennings of Yokota AFT, Japan, and Mrs. Russell (Patricia Lynn) Riley, of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. A. J. Keaton of Winnfield; one brother, Emmett Womack of Gaars Mill; and three grandchildren.
