Womack Is Claimed By Death Saturday Jesse Franklin Womack, 49, of Winnfield, was claimed by death Saturday afternoon enroute from the Baptist Hospital in Alexandria to his home in Winnfield. Funeral services were conducted at the Winnfield Christian Church Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with the Mr. Rayford Robertson, minister of the Church of Christ of Olla, in charge. Interment was made in the Springhill Cemetery near Jonesboro with Masonic rites at the grave under the direction of the Rochelle Lodge. Mr. Womack had been in ill health for several months and had been in the Baptist hospital for a general checkup. His son, Vernal Womack, and John T. DeLoach were bringing Mr. Womack home Saturday afternoon when he was strickenn and died before they could get him to a Winnfield clinic. The deceased had been employed by the Tremont and Gulf Railway Company for the past twenty years. Before moving to Winnfield two years ago to accept the position as road master, Mr. Womack lived at Eros, where he was section foreman. He was a member of the Tippen's Chapel Church of Christ and also belonged to the Masonic Lodge at Rochelle. Mr. Womack was born November 23, 1893 in Claiborne Parish, the son of Mrs. Sallie Womack and the late William W. Womack. He married Miss Willie Tippen of Chatham on September 2, 1912. The deceased is survived by his wife of Winnfield; his mother, Mrs. Sallie Womack of Quitman; two daughters, Miss Olene Womack of Winnfield and Mrs. H. F. Warren of Hodge; one son, Vernal Womack, Tullos; eight brothers, John William and A. V. of Oak Grove; C. E. and S. of Quitman; H. W. of Tullos; L. L. and G. A. of Hodge; and Lige Womack of Jonesboro; two half-brothers, R. L. of Litroe, La., and N. S. of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Lona Alford of Columbia and Mrs. Amey Hunter, Quitman; and one half-sister, Mrs. Fannie Bridges of Monroe.
