Death Claims Aunt Sophia Womack; Buried Sunday

Funeral services for Aunt Sophia Womack, pioneer resident of Winn Parish, were
held at Zion Hill Cemetery last Sunday, by the Rev. J. B. Adams, a large
concourse of relatives and friends attending the last rites.

Aunt Sophia Holstein Womack, as she was affectionately known by most everyone
in this section was 92 years of age.  She was born August 28th, 1841 in Greer
County, Ala., and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Holstein, prominent in the
affairs of Winn Parish.  She was the wife of the late Jesse Womack,
Confederate veteran.

The deceased died at the home of her only surviving daughter, Mrs. Sam Blake
of Oak Grove.
