W. R. Gage officiating. Wood was a native of Queen City, Texas, a Methodist, a veteran of World War I, a charter member of V. F. W., and was the first Commander of the Winnfield Unit. He owned and operated Wood Hardware for 56 years. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield. Mr. Wood died Tuesday, March 25, 1980 in Veterans Administration Medical Center in Shreveport after a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Wood of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Lynn McClane of Winnfield and Mrs. Ann Brock of Bossier City; a son, Morris L. "Buddy" Wood of Winnfield; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kenneth Wayne McClane, Steve Wood, Manton Brock, Bradley Brock, James Wood, and Sidney O'Bryan.
