Last Rites For Louis Cole Wood Held Mon., May 16

Last rites for Louis Cole Wood, 47, native of Winnfield, and former Shreveport
lumber broker, who died in a Winnfield hospital Saturday, May 14, were held at
the First Methodist Church Monday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Luther Booth, pastor,
officiating.  Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Hixson
Brothers.

Acting as pallbearers were Latnie Brewton, Sr., George Tannehill, Frank Shaw,
Dudley Shell, J. W. Wroten, and James Russell, Jr.

Mr. Wood was the son of the late C. R. Wood, one of Winnfield's early
merchants and sawmill operators.  He was a member of the First Methodist
Church of Winnfield.  

Survivors are his mother, Mrs. C. R. Wood of Winnfield; two sisters, Miss
Janie Wood and Miss Ruth Wood, both of Winnfield; three brothers, Vernon
of Norfolk, Va., Herman of Robstown, Texas and Harold of Uvalde, Texas.
