Mrs. W. M. Wood, 96, Succumbs To Long Illness

Mrs. Erie G. Wood, 96, of Winnfield, thought to be the oldest resident in Winn
Parish died Wednesday night April 1, 1970, in Winnfield General Hospital after
a long illness.

She was the widow of the late W. M. Wood, Sr.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Southern Funeral
Home here with the Rev. Willie Broadway officiating.  Burial was in Winnfield
City Cemetery.

Survivors include five sons, Sam C. Wood of Texarkana, Tes., Will Wood and Lee
Wood, both of Winnfield, John Wood of Lake Charles, and Sanford Wood of St.
Joseph; one daughter, Mrs. Herbert Garrard of Winnfield; one sister, Mrs.
Lottie DeMoss of Shreveport; 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and
three great-great grandchildren.
