W. P. Russell, 71, Father of Mrs. Otho Mott, Dies

Funeral services for W. P. Russell, 71, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1,
in Laurel Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. C. C. Martin officiating.

Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield under direction of
Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Russell, a retired planing mill worker, died Saturday evening in a Winnfield
hospital after a brief illness.  He was a native of Mississippi, a Mason, and
a member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church.  Masonic graveside services were
held.

Survivors are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. J. A. Herring of Kirbyville,
Texas, Mrs. Russell Vachiere of Bunkie, Mrs. Kay Whiddon of Shreveport, and
Mrs. Otho Mott of Winnfield; three brothers, Owen Russell of Beaumont, Texas,
Willie Russell of Burkville, Texas, and Clyde Russell of Springhill; four
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
