All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: November 29, 195l Winn Parish Enterprise Harrison Wardlow Of Montgomery is Killed in Wreck Funeral services for James Harrison Wardlow, 24 year old Montgomery bank teller, were held Sunday at St. Patrick Church in Montgomery following his death Friday, Nov. 23, from injuries received in an auto accident north of Montgomery. Wardlow was fatally injured when a pickup truck he was driving was involved in a head-on collision with a two-ton truck driven by Eugene Milton Johnson, 24, of Montgomery. Johnson is being held on a charge of negligent homicide, under $1,500 bond, it was reported. He was treated for a broken foot. G. S. Givens of Sulphur, a passenger in Wardlow's truck, was treated and released from Corkern Clinic in Natchitoches following the accident. It was reported that Johnson was under the influence of intoxicants at the time of the accident. Funeral services for Wardlow were under the direction of Rev. A. P. Balsun, with burial in the Natchitoches Cemetery under direction of a Natchitoches funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Christine Testa Wardlow, formerly of Waterproof; one son, Charles Otis; mother, Mrs. O. F. Wardlow; two brothers, Mervin and Kent, Montgomery; one sister, Mrs. Francis Brian of Alexandria.
